Improving Crooked Teeth
In addition to being a major aesthetic issue, crooked or misaligned teeth can lead to serious complications & long-term health issues, if left untreated. At the same time, people with crooked or misaligned teeth usually end up shying away from smiling heartily and thus, lose their overall confidence eventually. Thankfully, there are several dental solutions & treatments can resolve crooked teeth –both amongst children and adults. With proper crooked teeth treatment, you can get perfectly straight, aligned, and healthy teeth along with an attractive smile.
Crooked teeth might be the result of several factors or conditions. Usually, the teeth become misaligned or crooked during childhood when baby teeth fall out and get replaced by permanent, adult teeth. As they grow one by one and get affected by the presence of other teeth in the mouth cavity, these permanent sets of teeth usually become crooked or misaligned to one another.
Another major cause of misaligned or crooked teeth is tooth loss in case of adults. This condition is usually associated with tooth decay and falling out of teeth because of it. As you lose your tooth, the remaining tooth/teeth in the surrounding areas tend to shift in that direction towards filling up the gap. As such, in most cases, the shifting teeth end up appearing crooked or misaligned.
Correcting Crooked Teeth
In the field of dentistry, orthodontics is concerned with correcting crooked teeth or teeth alignment. Here are some of the options that are used for correcting crooked teeth in adults or children:
- Retainers: A retainer can be used for closing the caps and maintaining effective results of the orthodontic treatment.
- Braces: These serve to be the most common treatment for crooked or misaligned teeth. The modern-age braces in comparison to the conventional ones are more comfortable and easier to carry along.
- ClearCorrect®: Those opting for a more convenient tooth correcting treatment could opt for Invisalign –plastic trays that can be removed when needed and make it easier to eat & maintain dental hygiene.
What is ClearCorrect Alignment Therapy?
ClearCorrect alignment therapy uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you’re wearing. You can smile more during treatment knowing trays are invisible, and your teeth are becoming aligned. ClearCorrect alignment therapy is made with 3-D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective.
How does ClearCorrect Alignment Therapy work?
You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them when you eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to the final position Dr.Lenz has prescribed. You’ll visit Dr. Lenz about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.
Why would I want ClearCorrect Alignment Therapy?
ClearCorrect aligners are invisible, and this makes them removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while using trays for treatment. The feature of removal makes brushing and flossing natural, with no hindrance of typical alignment therapies. ClearCorrect trays are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. No metal and wires usually mean you typically spend less time with Dr. Lenz, getting adjustments. ClearCorrect alignment therapy also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
